Dr. Suvam Singh is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Physics at the Indian Institute of Information Technology Vadodara – International Campus Diu (IIITV-ICD). He is a theoretical physicist working in quantum dynamics and quantum many-body theory, with a particular focus on high-accuracy theoretical and computational studies of electron-, positron-, and photon-induced processes involving atoms, molecules, and ions. His research has applications in atomic and molecular collision physics, astrophysical and non-LTE plasmas, and transient astrophysical environments such as kilonovae. He is also exploring quantum computation and quantum information science, together with the use of neural networks and machine-learning approaches for modelling, prediction, and analysis of complex quantum and atomic systems.
He received his Ph.D. in Physics from IIT (ISM) Dhanbad in 2019, following an M.Sc. in Applied Physics from IIT (ISM) Dhanbad and a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Physics from the University of Calcutta. From 2020 to 2025, he worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics, Heidelberg, Germany, and has also been associated with the Helmholtz Institute Jena, Germany, as a Visiting Scientist. His broader research interests lie in developing and applying advanced computational approaches to understand fundamental quantum processes and their role in laboratory and astrophysical environments.
