Indian Institute of Information Technology Vadodara is an institute of national importance established under the Act of Parliament, Govt of India (GoI). The institute is established in Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode. The partners include the Government of India, Government of Gujarat, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Gujarat Energy Research and Management Institute (GERMI) and Gujarat State Fertilizers and Chemicals GSFC). The Institute was established in the year 2013. The first batch that was admitted in the year 2013-14 is graduating this year. The Institute is presently functioning from Block Number 9 of Government Engineering College Gandhinagar. The Institute does not have its own hostel building, therefore, a private premises has been hired to house the hostel of the institute. Students are transported by bus to the Institute. The mess facility is available at the hostel.




The Institute has been allotted land in Gujarat Knowledge City Dumad, Vadodara by the Government of Gujarat for establishing the permanent campus. The institute activities will be moved to Vadodara after the campus development. Till such time the institute will keep functioning from the temporary location in GEC Campus, Sector-28, Gandhinagar.

IIIT Vadodara is situated at Block No.9 of Government Engineering College, Sector-28, Gandhinagar. The nearest bus stand is called the “Pathikashram Central Bus Stop” (6.5 km), nearest major Railway Station is at Ahmedabad (32 km), and the Airport is the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, Ahmedabad (24 km). The institute is about 8 km from the Gandhinagar railway station. Ahmedabad is also served by another railway station called “Sabarmati railway station” (28 km).

IIIT Vadodara currently offers B Tech, M Tech and PhD programmes.

Admissions to B Tech program is through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JOSSA) constituted by the Government of India. The Institute does not conduct its own entrance examination. The admissions are purely based on the All India Ranking (AIR) announced by the JEE main examination committee (conducted by National Testing agency). Admission is through the centralized counselling process. Reservation as per mandate of GoI applicable to SC, ST, OBC, PH, EWS and others is applicable. The seat matrix provides a breakup of the seats in different categories.

Details of fees is available at in the link below. The tuition fee remains fixed for the duration of studies/ academic program. Other fees go through a minor revision year to year.
B. Tech.  | M. Tech.  | Ph. D.

The institute does not provide any fee waiver. It is worth mentioning that the institute does not receive any operational financial assistance from the government.

IIIT Vadodara does not provide fee waiver to any student.

IIIT Vadodara is listed under the State Bank of India (SBI) Scholar Loan and Punjab National Bank (PNB) Pratibha Loan schemes. These loan schemes are available for Indian students without a collateral. IIIT Vadodara will extend help in this regard.

Both the Institute have separate seat matrix in JOSAA/ CSAB 2020. Thus admission is open at both campuses and will be made at specific Institute.

Academic session will commence only after completion of Admission Process. Students coming to campus will depend on guidelines of Government of India nd Government of Gujarat considering the current COVID-19 Pandemic.
