IIIT Vadodara offers MTech (Computer Science & Engineering) program with specialization in Artificial Intelligence/Data Science at Gandhinagar and ICD campuses.

M.Tech (CSE) program is designed such that the students can complete it based on advanced coursework along with projects. The students interested to pursue a research oriented career are provided with an option to take up thesis work for a year in place of projects. The first semester of the program is aimed at laying down the foundations necessary for the computer science discipline. It gives students an opportunity to tune into the instructional philosophy and pedagogy of learning at IIIT Vadodara. Subsequent semesters provide avenues for specializing in one of the following areas:

(a) Artificial Intelligence
(b) Data Science

Admission Process and Eligibility:

(a) Admission through CCMT, (at IIITV-GN & IIITV-ICD campuses): A valid GATE score is mandatory. For admissions process (CCMT 2025), visit https://ccmt.admissions.nic.in/

(b) Admission through Institute Selection Process for
Non-CCMT (at both campuses), for both GATE and Non-GATE candidates, and for Working Professionals (only at Gandhinagar campus)

The applicants must have completed B.E./B. Tech. in Engineering or MCA/ MSc (Physics/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ CS / IT/DS/related)/ equivalent.
The applicants must have secured at least 60% or 6.0 CPI on a scale of 10 or equivalent marks in the qualifying degree.

Working Professionals would have an option to opt to study the program in OFFLINE or ONLINE Mode at the beginning of the programme at the time of registration. The fees structure for both online and offline modes are different.

For Non-CCMT & Working Professionals, follow the steps given below:

2. Keep scanned copies of following documents: Marksheets & certificate of graduation, Category certificate, CV, photograph, Proof of payment, No Objection Certificate from current employer (for working professionals).

3. The applicants must fill up the Online Application Form and SUBMIT it. Do Not leave the form half filled.

Schedule for Admissions through Institute Selection Process:

     Date of announcement of shortlisted candidates for selection process: May 13, 2025
     Date of selection process: May 15-16, 2025.
     Date of Announcement of selected candidates: May 20, 2025.
     Last date of payment of fees: June 1, 2025.

Financial Assistance:

The students admitted through CCMT as well as via the institute selection process will be eligible for institute financial assistance. The students will be offered financial assistance against teaching assistantship. For GATE qualified students, it will be INR 12400 per month. For non-GATE students, depending on the institute requirements the students may be eligible for financial assistance (in the form of teaching assistantship). For non-GATE students, the financial assistance up to 80% of the amount of the financial assistance given to the GATE qualified students may be provided based on the recommendation of a committee constituted by the Competent Authority. Note that, the students admitted under the Working Professionals category will not be considered for financial assistance.
